Katingan BPS Boosts Data Quality by Increasing the Capacity of Statistics Partners

BPS-Statistics Katingan Regency held an Evaluation of BPS Activities and Capacity Building for Statistical Partners, which took place over two days, Tuesday–Wednesday, November 4–5, 2025.
The event was officially opened by Muhlis Ardiansyah, a Senior Statistician at BPS-Statistics Katingan Regency, who in his remarks expressed appreciation to all staff members and statistical partners for their dedication and significant contributions in supporting the implementation of statistical activities in Katingan Regency.
The opening ceremony began with the traditional Kalimantan greeting, symbolizing the spirit of togetherness and solidarity among participants.
In his address, Muhlis Ardiansyah emphasized that this activity was not merely a routine annual agenda, but also a momentum to strengthen synergy and collaboration between BPS and its statistical partners. He also underlined the importance of professionalism and commitment among partners in maintaining the quality of statistical data produced.
The event also featured a guest speaker, Ni Gusti Ayu Putu Eka P., M.M., from the Social Affairs Office of Katingan Regency, who delivered a Knowledge Sharing session on the topic Updating the Integrated Social and Economic Data (DTSEN). In her presentation, she highlighted the importance of data integration and consistency as a foundation for evidence-based and equitable policy-making.
Throughout the two-day program, participants — comprising BPS staff and statistical partners — took part in various capacity-building sessions, including:
● Knowledge Sharing on Updating the Integrated Social and Economic Data (DTSEN);
● Internalization of BPS Indicators from the fields of Social Statistics, Distribution, Production, and Regional Accounts;
● Evaluation of statistical activity implementation within each team;
● Enhancement of administrative capacity, including the preparation of travel documents and accountability reports; and
● Socialization of the 2026 Economic Census, a major national agenda to be conducted by BPS in the coming year.
The event was designed in an interactive and inspiring manner, featuring fun quizzes and ice-breaking sessions that made the learning process more engaging and enjoyable.
On the second day, participants also received guidance on preparing administrative reports and steps toward the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census.
Concluding the event, Khalid Zuhri, Head of BPS-Statistics Katingan Regency, delivered an encouraging message, reminding all staff and statistical partners to maintain data quality with a spirit of teamwork, professionalism, and integrity in every statistical activity.
The event ended with an enthusiastic chant:
“Smart Work, Accurate Data, Quality Katingan!”
